High resolution magic angle spinning NMR spectroscopy is used to quantify the reaction progress during the modification of polyHEMA cryogels using the ‘click’ reaction, rendering this technique a suitable tool to monitor, in a straightforward fashion, the derivatization of macroporous structures using azide-alkyne ‘click’ chemistry.
