Ceramics make an Impact

The Journal of the American Ceramic Society remains the highest impact journal in the field. The 2008 ISI Impact Factor grew some 17% versus last year to 2.101, extending its lead over the Journal of the European Ceramic Society, which increased only 1% to 1.580.

The International Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology (also from the American Ceramic Society) occupies 3rd place, increasing nearly 9% to 1.488 ahead of the 4th placed Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids.

In 5-year Impact the two ACerS journals lead the way, and the Journal of the American Ceramic Society also leads the way in total citations, articles in the journal collecting a total of nearly 27,000 citations in 2008, nearly 38% more that the the second-placed Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids.
